Here we have what is a modular still. It comprises of the 2'' / 51m Tri Clamp Sight Glasses. This can be whatever you want it to be. You can fill it with copper mesh and have a reflux still you can leave empty and have a pot still you can fit some perforated discs and have a sieve plate still.

All the time you can see what is happening what is going on. All the little things that happen in a copper tube still you can now see. I have some sieve plates. There are 2'' to fit these sight glasses 2.5'' 3'' and 4'' they are here in the UK.

The other good thing with these units is the fact that you can have as many or as few as you like. They can be mixed with long or short lengths of pipe. Your imagination is the limit.

The other excellent and most important fact of all is, they are here in the UK. If you are a distiller you will be awhere of a well known company that markets a glass still. I have done the hard yards in sourcing and importing these items. They are just a few days away from you if you live in the UK. I have photographed them on a 100lt Keg.

They weigh around 1.5Kg each. Glass , which all adds to the weight. All in all a very nice well made Stainless Steel piece of equipment.

Borosilicate Glass is very tough stuff, it can have floors and air entrapment in the glass, as well as this it can have small chips on the edges of the glass. Due to the manufacturing and cleaning processes. This is not a product flaw, but a characteristic caused by air in production.

A small air pocket near the edge will lead to this phenomenon. Please handle items made of Borosilicate Glass with utmost care, do not do clamps up too tight, and do not put them down onto hard or especially hard rough surfaces. Also do not subject them/it to large temperature shocks. All glasses are inspected by us before they are sent out. Small edge chips are nothing to worry about. We can not accept subsequent complaints about edge chips. The item is wrapped carefully when sent to post.
